This week, we’re taking a step off the fashion track to talk a little bit of beauty! Fashion is all about how you choose to present yourself to the world, and naturally, that’s a head-to-toe ordeal that includes beauty.
So this week, I’m recommending my must-have, never-go-without summertime product: e.l.f.’s High Definition Loose Setting Powder. I’ve tried so many different setting powders (I’m looking at you, Laura Mercier) and have yet to come across one that holds a candle to this one, both in quality and in price.
Clocking in at $6, the e.l.f. loose setting powder is a beauty essential for three reasons: it’s easy to use and versatile, it’s long-lasting, and it sits beautifully on the skin.
Easy to Use
The loose powder works for lighter makeup days and more full-glam looks. When I’m going for more of a no-makeup makeup looks, I dust a little bit of this setting powder onto a big fluffy brush and tap it anywhere on my skin that I don’t want to see get too dewy. If a makeup look needs more coverage or you want to make sure it lasts all day and night, using a powder puff to directly apply it to the skin gives your glam the ultimate staying power.
Long-Lasting
Nothing, and I mean nothing, budges my makeup when I have this setting powder on. No matter what setting spray I bring into the equation—low quality or high quality—this powder is the common denominator in my longest lasting looks. Rain with no umbrella, double shifts waitressing outside, sleepovers with no makeup remover (happens to the best of us)—this powder keeps my skin looking fresh through all of it. I never end up looking oily, and that is so ideal as we head into the hotter months.
Beautiful Wear
Not only is the e.l.f. loose setting powder long-lasting, but it looks so lovely on the skin. I’ve used it with a variety of different skin tints and foundations, and it has worked equally well with all of them. It never sinks into your pores or lines, and it doesn’t crease or pill as the day goes on. A number of the purported “best” setting powders out there (with price tags to match) have done the opposite, emphasizing pores and lines, blending poorly with the products they’re sitting over.
While this is officially recommendation for e.l.f.’s High Definition Loose Setting Powder (and trust me, you will not regret it!), its really a recommendation for trying products for yourself rather than going for the most expensive or supposed best on the market. Figure out what works for you and your beauty routine, and don’t settle for the wrong product just because it’s what’s trendy!
