Fashion and astrology—two critical building blocks of my personality. If you’re more familiar with the former than the ladder, let me break it down a bit for you. You have a sun sign—that’s the sign you’re probably most familiar with—but you’ve also got a lot of other signs in your chart. One for every planet, a moon sign, a rising sign, and a few other more complicated signs that we won’t get into right now. Every planet represents something different, and based on the sign it falls into in your chart, it means something different about who you are and the energy you bring to the world. For example, the moon rules emotions, Mercury rules communication, and the planet we’re focusing on today, Venus, rules love.
So what does Venus have to do with fashion? Put simply, Venus oversees beauty and aesthetics. And depending on what sign your Venus is in, your energy manifests as a different physical aesthetic. When you align your style with that sign, you’re aligning the beauty you naturally possess with the image you present to the world. Once you figure out how to dress yourself in the style of your Venus sign, outfits feel like they fall together easily, and you’ll be able to access a deeper level of confidence in your fashion than ever before.
I’m not saying that there’s one exclusive way to dress for each sign—I’m not here to limit your personal style. But there are elements to each sign that can be applied to your wardrobe, and it’s embracing those elements that will make your style feel effortless.
Venus in Aries
Aries is a fire sign—she’s known for her fiery confidence, assertive attitude, and unabashed zeal for life. She’s energetic and demanding, and her adventurous spirit is one of her best qualities.

When it comes to clothes, Aries is bold. From cool and unusual prints to bright colors, she goes for eye-catching pieces that make a statement and draw attention. She isn’t afraid to mix statement pieces—her infectious confidence lets her pull off just about anything without opposing styles clashing.
While Aries can be a trendsetter, she doesn’t always have to think out of the box when it comes to her outfits. When she wants to keep things simpler, she leans on unique accessories, like metallic purses or vintage coats. Aries selects her pieces carefully, prioritizing one-of-a-kind styles or and items that suit her personal style. While she isn’t afraid to be trendy or even garish, she never veers from styles that are totally and completely her.
Venus in Taurus
Earth sign Taurus is grounded in decadence. She revels in the material world, but not to excess—she knows what she likes, and she’ll accept nothing less. Taurus prides herself on her honesty and consistency, and is loyal to a fault. She’s possessive, and loves her creature comforts.

Taurus dresses in sophisticated lines, rich fabrics, neutral tones, and simple styles. Don’t be mistaken—her style is never boring. She loves straightforward pieces with modern, chic details that ensure she’s never basic.
Taurus values quality, in the fabrics she chooses and the fits she selects. Her pieces don’t have to be expensive, but they will always fit her to a tee and be well constructed. Taurus doesn’t have to hide from fun colors or patterns, but she feels most at home in classic, timeless styles.
Venus in Gemini
Gemini is the first air sign of the zodiac, known for her adaptable, social spirit. Gemini is often unconventional, someone who finds joy in her versatility and the ability to shift gears on a moment’s notice. She’s creative, and it’s well balanced with intellect and curiosity. Gemini is never bored, because she never fails to find new ways to engage with life.

Gemini’s style is as flirty and unconventional as she is. She loves a sheer fabric, something metallic, a crochet piece, something decked in sparkly texture. She leans towards lighter colors, but loves pairing unexpected tones. She’s unintimidated by patterns or statement styles—really, she’s not afraid to try anything, at least once.
One day, she might try a flowy, feminine maxi dress, and the next she might go for bright yellow boxer shorts and a graphic baby tee. Variety is the spice of Gemini’s life, but the common thread is lightness. She never layers too many styles on top of each other, and the more creative outfits she goes for always work because she knows how to keep her appearance simple and let the outfit shine.
Venus in Cancer
Water sign Cancer is intuitive and sensitive. Her superpower is her inclination for the emotional, and she’s inherently committed and loyal. She has a deep understanding of herself and the people around her—even those she doesn’t know well yet. She’s discerning, but once she allows someone into her life, she is their fiercest defender. Never mistake Cancer for being naive—while she may be soft with those she loves, she is constantly noticing and judging the people around her.

When it comes to fashion, Cancer knows what she likes. She’s never going to fall victim to trends and fads—she sees through them and finds what’s timeless. She loves clean lines and classic pieces, and feels her best in soft fabrics.
Cancer’s outfit is never cluttered. She has accessories she loves—maybe jewelry she wears everyday—and when it comes to making a statement, she goes for cool silhouettes over big patterns or bright colors. If she does go for bright colors, she loves a monochromatic outfit that keeps her feeling cohesive. Her style stands out because of her keen eye—her ability to pick out the pieces that are modern and cool, but won’t feel dated six months from now.
Venus in Leo
Fire sign Leo is known for her flair for the dramatic. She projects effortless confidence, and has a love for all things glamorous. It’s not that she loves to be the center of attention—she just is. She catches eyes without even trying, and people are drawn to her naturally because of her bold and enthusiastic spirit.

The key to Leo’s outfits is layering—she combines a variety of styles and pieces, and makes them work in a single outfit. She’s can pair a cool print with a bold color, and throw in an unexpected accessory, and she makes it work.
Leo loves fun details, like a funky shaped bag, an oversized coat, or a cool shoe, but there is never too much going on with her outfit. While Leo’s outfits feel eclectic at first glance, a closer look will prove that there’s a sort of theme to every look, making the chaos cohesive. Leo treats every day like a performance, and her outfit is her costume.
Venus in Virgo
Earth sign Virgo is a perfectionist in every aspect of life. Her attention to detail and love of structure is reflected in everything she does, from her work to her relationships to her style. Virgo is fiercely independent, and might come off as intimidating to those who aren’t able to meet her on the level she operates at. But for those who can, she’s deeply loyal and finds joy in lifting up the people around her.

When it comes to Virgo’s style, her love of structure carries over. While she’s naturally drawn to simplicity, she doesn’t shy away from a statement sleeve or a bold silhouette. A coat with a cinched waist and a wide shoulder is the perfect piece for a Virgo.
Strong fabrics that hold their shape are a natural choice for Virgo—she’ll rarely go for slouchy fits. Denim, linen, fitted knits—whatever she’s wearing, it’ll fit her well, and you’ll be hard pressed to find her looking creased or wrinkled. Virgo never goes over the top with layers or accessories, instead opting for simple pieces and pairings that make her look effortlessly chic.
Venus in Libra
Venus in Libra is a beautiful placement to have—like Taurus, Venus is at home in Libra. There’s an inherent harmonious energy to this placement. Libra is flirty and cool, with a balanced and self-aware vibe. She’s deeply empathetic, and she’s able to see all sides of a situation. While this might make her seem indecisive, she’s actually deeply self-aware, and allows herself time to reflect before jumping to conclusions.

Libra knows herself well, and that manifests in her style as effortless coolness. She loves feminine details like ruffles and bows, and her style can feel vintage, like a callback to the most high-fashion moments of the ‘60s and ‘70s. She never shies away from bright colors and funky silhouettes.
When it comes to simple pieces, Libra loves fitted styles and light tones. Satin slip dresses, ballet flats, straight-leg denim. Even at her most simple, there’s always an inherent sweetness to Libra’s outfits that feels fresh and youthful, but never immature.
Venus in Scorpio
Scorpio is famously intense—the deep & dark water sign. She’s a tremendous well of emotion, but gate-keeps those feelings from everyone but a select few. On the surface, she can seem like the life of the party—funny and inaccessible. And while she is the life of the party, she’s also one of the most sensitive signs there is. She loves deeply, often dramatically, and she’s deeply irritated by people who don’t match her energy.

Scorpio loves dark tones, unexpected texture combinations, and dressing down the dressy. Her knack for pairing formal or evening styles with the right pieces to make them casual is her superpower. She can make a night-out look work for a grocery store run without looking overdressed. She loves lace, leather, and sheer fabrics.
Scorpio doesn’t exclusively have to go for dark colors—it’s just that dark colors are easiest for her to feel cool in. When she does go for a brighter or lighter color, it’s either for a super casual outfit or a super dressed up outfit. It’s easiest for her to find balance with dark tones.
Venus in Sagittarius
Fire sign Sagittarius is the adventurer. She’s optimistic and goofy, and finds joy in learning new things. She values honesty, and while she doesn’t take things too seriously, she knows when to buckle down. She’s constantly on the move and taking up new hobbies, but one thing she isn’t is flighty. She values her freedom, and connects most easily with people who allow her to be herself.

When it comes to her style, Sag values a certain degree of utilitarianism in her outfits. It’s not that she doesn’t values style—she’s one of the coolest and most creative dressers of the zodiac—it’s more that she puts on outfits like she’s always ready to jump on a flight. She has a unique ability to dress up a sweatshirt or style down a dress.
Sag loves masculine and boxy silhouettes—menswear is regularly in her style rotation. When it comes to dressing up, Sag is unafraid of a statement piece—a feather laden dress or something decked out in sequins. She could go out one night and roll up to brunch in the same outfit, and no one would bat an eye.
Venus in Capricorn
Earth sign Capricorn is ambitious and focused. She’s practical and honest, and deeply loyal. Much like sister-sign Cancer, when she decides someone is important to her, she locks them in for life.

Capricorn values evolution, and is always working on becoming the best version of herself—she uplifts the people in her life in the same way. She’s a vault and sounding board for the people she loves, and always has the best advice.
When it comes to her style, Capricorn loves the classics. She’s all about balancing proportions—she loves long lines, from midi and maxi skirts to high neck lines. By no means is Cap’s style prudish, though. She loves an open back dress, or to pair a tailored pant with a tiny top. She tends to go for structured fabrics to give her outfits a more sophisticated vibe—even when it comes to night-out ‘fits, she looks classy and polished.
Venus in Aquarius
Air sign Aquarius is an unpredictable oddball—she loves trying new things and keeping busy. She’s free spirited, and is most engaged with the world when she’s challenged creatively. She flits through emotions quickly—and strongly—which might make her seem inconsistent. But really, she just feels the world deeply and isn’t afraid to let people see that feeling.

Aquarius’s style is funky and creative. She loves weird prints, cool matching sets, statement pieces, and cool textures. A colorful embossed velvet jacket, or a feather-hem skirt—she’s unafraid to try quirky styles. Color is her best friend, she’s an expert at combining bold styles.
One day, you might see Aquarius wearing a long coat with a massive fur collar. The next day, she’s wearing jeans and a colorful sweater. Whether she’s dressed up or casual, there are always hints of creativity in her outfit. Something you see on the rack and think, I could never make that work, is the same thing you see Aquarius wearing the next day and think, Holy shit, she looks cool.
Venus in Pisces
Water sign Pisces is the romantic, dreamy queen of the zodiac. Known for her gentle spirit and intense empathy, this is a particularly intense sign for Venus to live in. Pisces tends to live life with rose colored glasses on—but not necessarily in a bad way. She sees the world idealistically, and often that leads to best-case-scenarios manifesting in her life.

She loves love and gives it freely to those around her—she surrounds herself with people willing to feel the depth of her emotional world alongside her, and isn’t interested in maintaining relationships with those who don’t.
When it comes to style, Pisces’ clothes are just as romantic and dreamy as she is. She loves a ruffle sleeve, cutesy patterns, and fun collars. Soft knits are constantly in rotation, and along with flowy dresses and pastel tones. Pisces loves a statement piece, like a big fuzzy coat or a cool shoe, but one thing is consistent across all of the clothes she wears—an air of playfulness. Pisces wears outfits that fill her with joy—the world is her playground, and she’s playing dress up. Pisces is the main character in her own life, and she’s always styled like she’s about to step onto the set of her own romcom.
Aligning your personal style with those associated with your Venus sign is the perfect way to make your outfits feel effortlessly cool. You don’t have to completely overhaul your wardrobe—it’s really about noting the key attributes of your Venus, and intermingling them with your personal style. The point is to make your style feel like you. As always, take what you love and leave what you don’t, but stepping outside of your comfort zone and orienting your wardrobe to your Venus sign could be the key to unlocking your best style ever. Give it a try.
