In case you haven’t noticed, there’s a very cute section on this blog’s homepage called now trending. It’s where I curate some of my absolute favorite outfits I’ve styled, into cute little seasonally and trend-relevant collections. The collections are updated weekly, so outfit inspo is never in short supply.

Currently, the four collections are:

Knit to Fit: Outfits featuring my favorite cool & unusual knitwear.

Layered in Layers: Styling the perfect fall outerwear.

All Dressed Up: Dresses, dresses, & more dresses.

Cool Girl Casual: Everyday outfits featuring cool prints, fun silhouettes, etc.

So let’s talk about a few of my favorite looks from each collection, what went into styling them, and all the rest.

Knit to Fit: The inspiration behind he collection is pretty straightforward: fall, knits. Duh. But the sweaters featured are some of my absolute favorite pieces right now—from the colors to the silhouettes, these knits veer from traditional sweaters and make incredible centerpieces to these outfits.

The Red Handknit High Neck Sweater from GANNI, with its moon & stars design, is my current obsession. The texture, the colors—it’s definitely the focal point of the outfit. But because there are multiple colors woven into the knit, along with those bold pops of yellow, it’s easy to weave color into the rest of the outfit. The yellow plaid mini skirt balances the oversized silhouette of the sweater, and adds a pop of color that doesn’t overwhelm the outfit or feel out of place. With yellow and red as the dominant colors, I drew those into the accessories as well. Staud recently launched their line of astrology beaded bags, and as a (triple) Leo, the alignment with the color palette isn’t the only reason I chose the one that I did. The black foldover boots pair seamlessly with the darker tones in the sweater and skirt, but I specifically chose a foldover to even out the proportions of the outfit—with the oversized sweater, I didn’t want the boot to be too slim. The Frasier Sterling Martini earrings from Anthropologie bring a bit of the red into the accessories as well, tying the whole look together.

Layered in Layers: I’m obsessed with each and every one of these looks. The fur lined denim coat, the leather trenches, but most of all, the Tulle Bomber Jacket. I had a visceral reaction when I first saw it—it’s so unique and the color is stunning.

I knew I wanted to style it with a simpler look and let all the attention rest on the jacket. The neckline of the white tee aligns with the tie on the jacket to keep those lines clean. The jeans I chose are a darker wash to add some dimension to the blue of the jacket, and the cuffed hem gives them a polished vibe. I went with a low rise so that the waistline would meet the hem of the jacket, and added a. The chartreuse flats give a pop of color to the straightforward palette of the look, and the olive purse follows that line. The belt is a fun highlight piece—decorated with almost charm-like chunky studs, but still neutral. Part of why it works so well for the outfit is because the pieces either lean heavily into texture, or heavily into simplicity. The belt and the jacket do the former, the rest of the pieces the latter.

All Dressed Up: This collection is about two things: dresses, and counteracting their aesthetic through the styling. The ruffly, flowing maxi paired with a heavy knit, the lacy slip dress layered with leather, the feminine puff sleeve with sleek boots, and the soft cashmere with an ultra structured blazer. With these stylings, opposites don’t just attract—they collaborate to create a totally new and interesting aesthetic.

The Mongolian Cashmere Sleeveless Dress from Quince has a luxurious look, and simple and flattering silhouette that makes it the perfect pair for the Pin Stripe Saemdi blazer. With its wide shoulders, collarless asymmetrical neckline, and cinched waist, the piece feels completely special. It adds drama while still feeling subtle and easy to style. The suede navy bag plays on the soft texture of the dress, and the square toe mules align with the structural nature of the blazer.

Cool Girl Casual: It’s not a catch-all category, but it does cover kind of a wide variety of looks. So what makes all of these work? They’re daytime outfits that engage with cool patterns, interesting color combos, cool silhouettes, or all of the above.

The Allina Liu Poppy Skirt in bubblegum is the focal point of this last collection. The gingham print and bright colors give it a springlike feel, and the bright pop of yellow has a similar vibe. I’ve never really believed that certain colors have to live in certain seasons, I just think they have to be styled correctly. The bright colors are grounded by the camel leather boots and tote, bringing earthy neutral tones and bit of weight to the outfit.

To take a closer look at all of the now trending collections, just head over to the homepage. The outfits living there won’t be there for long, but they do have a permanent place on my TikTok feed if you’re in need of some more outfit inspiration. As always, take what you love, leave what you don’t, and put together some cool outfits that you absolutely love.
